A HAND OF EXPLORING THE MICRO- AND NANO-SCALE WORLD -- ATOMIC FORCE MICROSCOPE1)

  • 摘要: 显微镜的发展让人类看到了真实的微纳米世界,原子力显微镜的出现则让我们进一步直接接触并感知其中的力学相互作用。借助这只微纳尺度的手,原子力显微镜技术越来越多地帮助我们探索和理解微纳米世界,甚至是生命世界。本文介绍了显微镜的发展,原子力显微镜的力学测量原理,以及在活细胞力学研究中的应用。

     

    Abstract: The development of microscopes makes it possible to observe the physical world at the micro- and nano-scales. The invention of the atomic force microscope (AFM) enables us to directly contact the microscopic world and measure the interactions. With the help of this micro- and nano-scale hand, the AFM technique, is increasingly used for exploring and understanding the physical world and even the living world at micro- and nano-scales. This paper reviews the development of the microscope, the working principle of the AFM and its application in studying cell mechanics.
