Abstract: This paper reviews the development of the fatigue damageaccumulation theory and fatigue life prediction approaches for spotwelds, including the fatigue life predicting methods, fatigue lifeprediction models, and factors affecting the fatigue strength of spotwelds. It covers both theoretical and engineering aspects. Some commentsare made on the further development of the life prediction methods.
