ANALYTIC APPROXIMATION FOR BUCKLING OF THE EULER'S COLUMN WITH LARGE DEFLECTION

    Abstract: This paper studies the buckling of the Euler's columnwith large deflection. By combining the linearization of the governingequation with the method of harmonic balance, we have establishedanalytic approximate formulas for the buckling load and the largestdeflection of the column. These formulas are valid for small as well aslarge deformation of the column.
