Abstract: In this paper, a modal test method for quality evaluationof masonry structures is presented. With given frequencies, modalshapes and some other parameters, the masonry strength andlayer rigidity can be calculated. From an engineering example, it isseen that this method is viable and may serve as a scientific foundationfor quality evaluation of masonry structures.
