Abstract: Pipelaying is an important operation in offshoreengineering. As its governing equation is nonlinear and the boundary is moveable,the analytical solution is difficult to get. In this paper, a singularperturbation method is used to solve this problem. The comparisonwith FEM shows a good agreement.
