Abstract: Drag force is a very important fundamental concept in fluid mechanics. There is relatively little introduction to drag force in the existing textbooks of fluid mechanics. The present paper introduces the explanation of drag force from the points of views of Newtonian mechanics and fluid mechanics, respectively, and their differences. The drag force on flexible structures is also introduced. Through these introductions, students can have a more comprehensive and profound understanding of drag force, and be more interested in fluid mechanics.
