Abstract: Kayo flakes are made from thin slices of dried bonito and are often used as a condiment in Japanese cuisine. When bonito flakes are sprinkled on food, it can be observed that the phenomenon of bonito flakes surprising dance occurs, and this paper mainly observes several self-sustained movement phenomena of bonito flake through experiments, explores the mechanical principle of the phenomenon, and explains it.
