Abstract:
Particle segregation is widely present in nature and industry. Current research mainly focuses on the segregation caused by the size and density of the spherical particles. While irregular particles are more prevalent and more and more research is expanding to the segregation caused by particle shape. Researches are mainly based on spherical particles, and then extend to ellipsoidal, cubic, cylindrical and other standard shapes of particles with experimental measurement or computer simulation to obtain the distribution of multiple types of particles. In this paper, seven segregation quantification models are summarized and the segregation results between spherical particles and ellipsoidal, lumpy and cylindrical particles are analyzed. Finally, we try to look forward to the prospects of particle segregation research.
