Abstract: Based on soil plasticity and limit analysis theory, and by using three-dimensional failuremodes of inclined cohesionless backfill, a general formula of upper bound values of soil pressure acted onrough retaining walls is proposed in this paper, andthe active soil pressure vs. different values of B/His discussesed
