Abstract:
This study investigates high-temperature dynamic sealing structures for wide-range variable geometry inlets, focusing on super-alloy canted coil springs as critical elastic components. At first, parametric modeling was built via mathematical equations. Then finite element method analysis using ANSYS was conducted, and preliminary resilience characteristics of canted coil spring were obtained. And then, compression rebound performance tests were performed under both ambient and high-temperature conditions. Research results showed that: Firstly, the average equivalent stress at the maximum stress plane should be less than 50% yield strength of the material, which was verified as the design guideline for the canted coil springs. Secondly, the mechanical performance of canted coil springs reached the requirements within the specified stroke range, and the rebound elasticity was excellent at room temperature, while it decreased remarkably at 950℃.
