Abstract: This paper firstly proposes a straightforward method for determining the degree of static indeterminacy, which is based on the redundant constraint on displacement. Secondly, an effective method for reducing the degree of static indeterminacy is discussed, achieved by decomposing a general load into symmetrical and antisymmetrical components.
