Numerical Simulation of Dynamics of Swaying a Swing

Abstract
Based on the action of a person on a swing, a rigid body system with three rigid bodies is developed to model the swing system. Then the dynamic process of the swing system is numerically simulated with the application of MSC ADAMS. The results show that the swaying amplitude of a swing is characteristically decided by the frequency and initial phase of the movement of the person on the swing. Some other important conclusions are also obtained.
