DISPLACEMENT CALCULATION FOR PILE GROUP OF VARYING RIGIDITY UNDER AXIAL LOADING

On the basis of flexibility matrix in a single pile, a formula for calculating the settlement of a pile group of varying rigidity is derived to complement ``Technical Code for Building Pilefoundations''. Comparing with the results for uniform piles, it is shown that piles of varying rigidity can reducedifferential settlement. The method can be used forreference in drawing new code.
