SIMULATION AND EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON ACTIVE CONTROL OF PIEZOELECTRIC STRUCTURE

  • In order to study the dynamics characteristics andcapabilities of piezoelectric smart structures, the Negative VelocityFeedback Control and Modal Space Control technique based on LinearQuadratic Regulator (LQR) control are used together with Finite ElementMethod in this paper. A new method of numerical simulationusing PATRAN/NASTRAN and MATLAB is adopted to control the vibration ofstructures. Vibration control experiment of a plate shows the validity of thenew simulation method with MATLAB/xPC Real-Time Workshop.Results show that the control method by using piezoelectric material iseffective.
