BLAST EXPERIMENTS OF THE REINFORCED CONCRETE SLABS SIMPLY-SUPPORTED AT BOTH ENDS

  • Under blast loads, reinforced concrete slabs are usuallyweak links in building structural failure, which in turn induces thestructural stiffness degradation and results in the structuralblast-response upgrading. The reinforced concrete slabs simplysupported at both ends were selected as experimental objects, the blastexperiments were performed on two same specimens to investigate the dynamicresponse of the reinforced concrete slab in the elastic range and thefailure characteristics in the plastic range. The experimental results providesome effective data and comparisons in the development of experimentalstudy on the reinforced concrete slabs retrofitted with carbon fiberreinforced polymer sheets under blast loadings, andalso serve as references for similar researches.
