FEELING HIGH TEMPERATURE GAS DYNAMICS

  • Some important research progresses of hightemperature gas-dynamics related to hypersonic sciences and technologiesare reviewed. Several fundamental research topics are discussed for future research, which include the advancedhypersonic test facilities; modeling aero-thermo-chemistry; stagnation flowregion prediction; hypersonic boundary layer transition and shockwaves/viscous interactions. The physical flow phenomena in suchsituations are thought to be closely related to real gas effects andstrong shock wave interactions. It is believed that future improvements ofhypersonic critical techniques depend on better understanding ofthose phenomena.
