SOME ADVANCES IN NON-NEWTONIAN FLUID MECHANICS

The fundamental concepts of micropolar fluid, couplestress fluid, fractional Maxwell fluid and smart fluid are described. Thebasic differences between these non-Newtonian fluids and Newtonian fluidsare elaborated by simple examples. Advances in the fields ofthese non-Newtonian fluids are discussed.
