URBAN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC AND TRAFFIC FLOW MODELS

The various problems in urban roadway traffic are discussed.The progress in the traffic flow models based on fluid dynamics, gaskinetics, car following and cellular automaton is summarized from thepoint of view of continuous, probability and discrete methods. Thefeatures of these models are described. At last, the further prospectiveresearch on traffic flow is cxamined.
