FEM RESEARCH OF SHELL CREEP DEFORMATION FOR COMPOSITE STRUCTUR

  • Based on creep deformation theory, using finiteelement numerical calculating method with ANSYS commercial software ascalculation platform, the creep deformation computational model for compositestructure shell is established. For composite structure blast oxygenfurnace (BOF) composed of magnesia-graphite refractory,due to the high thermal conductivity of magnesia-graphiterefractory, a high temperature will appeared on the shell in theBOF. This results in shell creep deformation to a greater or lesserdegree and reduces its service life. The BOF shell creep deformation is studiedin this paper, the result provides some hintsto control shell creep deformation and prolong shellservice life. With the finite element computational model,the simulation resultsagree quite well with the spot measurements.
