A NEW SOLUTION FOR STABILITY OF SQUARE PIPE

A solution of deformation, critical pressure and stress forsquare pipe under pressure is obtained by using planebending formula and a transformation from planestress to plane strain in elasticity.The maximum deformation, critical stress and maximum stress are obtained.The results are compared with those obtained by the finite elementsoftware of Msc. Marc.
