GAS FLOW IN MICRO-SCALE PORE OF LOW PERMEABILITY POROUS MEDIA

  • The study on characteristics of gas micro-flow inmicro-scale pores is one of important fields of modern mechanics offluids in porous media. Results of experiments on saturated gas flow inpores of low-permeability rock were analysed. Laws of gas flow inmicro-scale pores were explored. A mechanism of gas nonlinear flow in thelow-permeability rock pores was discussed. It was found that both gas andliquid nonlinear flow in micro-scale pores of the low-permeability rockfollow the same flow law. A united model for gas and liquidnonlinear flow in micro-scale pores of low-permeability rock wasestablished. Results show that there is a good agreement between data of themodel and experiments. The above results can serve a basis for newtheoretical explorations oncharacteristics of gas micro-flow in micro-scale pores. And they can also serve as a reference for geological environmentpreservation and development of underground fluids sources.
