Abstract
The equivalent relation between the spherical andcylindrical particles was built, and the method of equivalent surface areawas used to calculate the drag exerted on the cylindrical particle.Then the finite-volume method was applied to obtain the dragnumerically. It is found that the drag obtained by thenumerical method differs from that obtained by the equivalent surface areamethod by a factor of 1.5~2.
