THE STUDY OF PHOTOELASTIC EXPERIMENT FOR THREE-DIMENSIONAL COMPLICATED STRUCTURE

The photoelastical principle and method is used inthis paper, to scale down the geometrical size of a structure,to do model design and to manufacture it. The stress freezing under a uniform pressure, slicing and stress analysisare performed on the model. The stress distributionin different sections of the model is determined. The experiment and its resultshave provided a basis for optimization design and improvement of numericalmethods.
