NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF INJECTION MOLD FILLING PROCESS

Based on the generalized Hele-Shaw flow for a viscous, non-Newtonian fluid under nonisothermal condition, this paper presents a mathematical model for the simulation of the mold-filling in three dimensional thin-wall parts. A hybrid FEM/FDM is used to solve the pressure and energy governing equations, and computer simulation of the mold-filling process is achieved.
