CALCULATION METHOD FOR PPMT JOINT

In view of the construction of a precast prestressed municipaltunnel (PPMT) in the 2010 Shanghai Expo, a calculationmethod, to simulate the bending stiffness and the flexural capacity ofPPMT joint, is proposed based on the internal force equilibrium and thedeformation compatibility. The elongation of the prestressing tendonsand the elasticmodules change of the hydroswelling rubber-sealings are taken intoconsideration in the calculation method. The accuracy of the calculationmethod is shown by the experimental results. The results of this workhas been applied in the PPMT in the 2010 Shanghai Expo.
