FINITE ELEMENT METHOD FOR THE ANALYSIS OF ROLLS DEFLECTION FOR 4-HIGH MILL

  • The finite element method is used to solve the deflection of rolls for 4-high mill. The problem can not be solved directly because of unknown contact pressure and deflection between work roll and back-up roll. Based on the special features of roll deflection and pressure j the governing equation may be transformed and then the deflection of rolls can be evaluated. In this way, the more accurate forecast and control for the roll gap can be realized.
