TENSILE BEHAVIOR OF δ-Al_2O_3 SHORT FIBER REINFORCED Al ALLOY COMPOSITES

Abstract
Based on the results of macro- and micro-experiments, the tensile elastic modulus and stress-strain curve of δ-Al2O3 short fiber reinforced Al alloy composites are predicted by threedimensional elasto-plastic FEM. Tlie fracture characteristic of composite is also analyzed. The fiber's orientation and its distribution were measured by experiments. It is shown that the predicted results are considerably close to the experimental ones.
