PROBABILISTIC FRACTURE THEORIES FOR COMPOSITES

Statistical analyses of tensile failures for fibers, fiber bundles and composites have been reviewed in this paper. Emphasis has been placed on both the statistical theories of crack propagation and the random critical-core theory for composite materials.
