STRUCTURES ROBUST DESIGN AND ITS APPLICATION

The recent research results on robust design are reviewed and some robust design methodsare introduced as well. Robust design for structures is proposed firstly. A truss structural exampleshows that this new method is much better than current design method. The prospect of this methodfor ship hull structures is also predicted.
