LEADING THE RESEARCH OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY TO MEET THE REQUIREMENT OF OUR COUNTRY IN OFFSHORE ENGINEERING—THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF IMCAS IN DEVELOPING OFFSHORE ENGINEERING SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN CHINA

This paper reviews the developing history of the field in offshore engineering science at IMCAS (Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences), unveils some outstanding contributions of distinguished scientists in developing offshore engineering mechanics in IMCAS, such as Lin Tongji, Zheng Zhemin atc., and reveals the important role and achievements of IMCAS in developing offshore engineering science and technology in China under the guidance of Qian Xuesen’s engineering science.
