INTEGRATED DESIGN OF A TEXTBOOK ON VIBRATION MECHANICS AND AUTOMATIC CONTROL

  • According to the overall requirements of the core course of dynamics and control in the "Mechanics 101 Program" granted by the Ministry of Education of China, this paper proposes the new textbook design of fundamentals of dynamics and control. The textbook aims to integrate vibration mechanics and automatic control of linear dynamic systems. First, the intrinsic connection between the basic theories of vibration mechanics and automatic control is explained in details. Second, the design concepts, content framework and features of the textbook are introduced. The textbook is divided into five chapters, including introduction of dynamics and control, vibration of one degree-of-freedom system, control of one degree-of-freedom system, vibration and control of multiple degrees-of-freedom system, and vibration and control of one-dimensional infinite degrees-of-freedom system. And it emphasizes the combination of system science thinking and engineering application requirement. Finally, the textbook design is summarized, and its limitations and future directions are pointed out.
