Abstract
The slope and displacement at a specific point on a simply supported beam are obtained by the displacements of the free ends of two cantilever beams which are fixed at the specific point and whose free ends are subjected to the reaction forces of the supports of the simply supported beam. The method is proved by the unit-load method. The formulas are simple and the method is easy to be applied. The method applies to general simply supported beam.
