Abstract
To solve the conflicts between the lack in the dimensions and depth of existing mechanics experimental course and scientific research demands of contemporary graduate students at the era of Mechanics 3.0, we have elaborated on the reasons and strategies for the course reform on the mechanics experimental course by specific cases. The teaching aims is improved to be hierarchical and differentiated by setting two different levels of skill goals, "proficient mastery" and "understanding", for the teaching knowledge from different dimensions. The teaching content has been innovated by incorporating the theoretical knowledge and demonstrations of novel experimental techniques. The course design emphasizes an application-oriented approach by introducing the characteristics of experimental instruments and sensors according to their application demands. It aims to help graduate students majoring in mechanics master the knowledge system of modern mechanical experiments, prepare for scientific research practice, as well as independent scientific research and engineering practice of the students after graduation.
