Abstract

Through the interpretation of the shape and origin of three ancient Chinese characters “力, 劦, 动”, the concept of mechanics hidden in the ancient Chinese characters is analyzed. The results show that they stem from Chinese ancestors' intuitive and simple understanding of some mechanical phenomena in nature.
