CENTER OF MASS AND MOMENT OF INERTIA MEASUREMENT METHOD BASED ON IMAGE ANALYSIS1)

  • This paper proposed a method of measuring center of mass and moment of inertia based on image analysis. The method combines image analysis with the suspension method and the compound pendulum method. It first extracts the suspension line and the period of compound pendulum movement of the specimen through image analysis, then determines the center of mass and the moment of inertia. This method is a convenient tool for experiment teaching, and enhances the teaching of theoretical mechanics.
