Abstract
The buckling and post-buckling behaviors of a columnunder distributed load are discussed in this paper. Based on the largedeformation theory and considering the axial extension of the column, theequilibrium equations with geometric nonlinearity of an elastic columnsubjected to distributed load are established. By using shooting method andanalytical continuation, the nonlinear boundary-value problem is solvednumerically. The post-bucking configuration and equilibrium paths of thecolumn are obtained.
