HOW TO PULL THE HOIST ROPE OF GUY TYPE DERRICK CRANE MODERATELY AND IN AN INCLINED ANGLE WITH A DRAG ROPE

This paper briefly describes the structure and principleof the cable type derrick crane with a drag rope operating with the hoist ropefor increasing the working range, The loads on its maincomponents are analyzed and the formulas are obtained for determining their loads. Thecalculation and comparison indicates that pulling the hoist rope in aninclined angle within the permitted limits in operation is feasible and safe.The appropriate parameters for this kind of cranes are suggested fordesign.
