MODEL EXPERIMENT AND NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF HIGH-PILED WHARF AND UNEVEN SETTLEMENT

  • A high-piled wharf in use for more five yearsare studied with model experiment to obtain the unevensettlement of large-diameter concrete pipes. First, physical parametersfor the model (PVC piles) are chosen throughdimensional analysis, and then, the uneven settlement of the large-diameter concretepipe is obtained by electrical measurement technology. At thesame time,a numerical simulation is carried out to validate the model experiment results. It is shown that it isfeasible to analyze the uneven settlement of the large-diameter concrete pipewith a numerical simulation.
