KINEMATICS-BASED METHOD FOR GEOMETRIC COMPOSITION ANALYSIS OF PLANAR MEMBER SYSTEM1)

  • The geometric composition analysis for the planar member system is a fundamental part in the structural mechanics. With the traditional triangular rules or the zero-load method, difficulties will be encountered in analyzing some complex systems. To overcome these shortcomings, a kinematics-based method is proposed to analyze any planar member systems theoretically. Three examples are provided to show its efficiency.
