THE OBLITERATED GENIUS——ROBERT HOOKER

This paper briefly introduces Hooke's life and his contribution to the Royal Academy of Sciences, and it also summarizes his contributions to respiratory physiology, optics, architecture, geology, meteorology, and oceanography. After discussing the causes and processes of several disputes between Hooke and Newton, it briefly analyzed the possible reasons why he was obliterated, which provides reference for future generations to understand this great scientist.
