USAGE OF MAGNITUDE ESTIMATION IN SIMPLIFING ANALYSIS OF MECHANICS OF MATERIALS

The simplification of a problem is often based on assumptions. The reasonability of the assumption not only determines the scope of conclusion feasible, but also cultivates students in solving the problem of complex system engineering. This paper uses the method of magnitude estimation to explain the relationship between some deformations of material mechanics and the basis of simplified assumptions, which could provide a reference for explaining the relevant problems in the teaching activities.
