NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF EULER ELASTIC LINE PROBLEM WITH MAPLE1)

  • Modern information technology is used in teaching material mechanics as an exploration and practice of course education. In this paper, the Euler equation for an elastic beam is solved by Maple programming. It numerically simulated the deflection curve shape of large deflection cantilever beam under concentrated load. The effects on the mechanical characteristics of free end rotation angle, deflection, horizontal displacement and load are analyzed and calculated, and the numerical results are verified with the known exact solution. The teaching scope of material mechanics has been widened.
