A DIRECT METHOD FOR SECTION DESIGN OF SQUARE COLUMNS CONSISTING OF FOUR EQUILATERAL STEEL ANGLE

  • Considering influence of shear deformation,columns consisting of four equilateral steel angle was classified into lacing plate and lacing steel angle column,and direct design formulae for this two types of column were induced respectively in this paper.The direct design method was suitable for demand and custom of STEEL STRUCTIVE DESIGN SPECIFICATION (GBJ17 88) being used in practice,and was used conveniently in project design.
