Applying Problem-Based Scientific Methodology in Basic Mechanics Experiment Teaching at Local Universities: A Case Study of Yantai University’s Engineering Mechanics Experimental Teaching Center

  • In the era of the knowledge economy, higher education is continuously evolving in terms of content, teaching styles, and pedagogical methods. Confronted with the challenges in basic mechanics education, the Engineering Mechanics Experimental Teaching Center at Yantai University has implemented systematic reforms in experimental teaching using a problem-based approach rooted in scientific methodology. These reforms enhance the appeal of the course, encourage active thinking among students, and significantly improve teaching outcomes. As a result, students have shown marked improvements in independent innovation capabilities and practical engineering skills.
