Abstract
To address the conflicts between the limitations in the dimensions and depth of existing mechanics experimental course and the scientific research demands of contemporary graduate students at the Mechanics 3.0 era, we have elaborated on the reasons and strategies for the course reform on the mechanics experimental education through specific cases. The teaching aims have been revised to be hierarchical and differentiated, with two distinct skill levels set for the teaching knowledge from different dimensions: “proficient mastery" and “understanding". The teaching content has been innovated by incorporating the theoretical knowledge and demonstrations of novel experimental techniques. The course design emphasizes an application-oriented approach by introducing the characteristics of experimental instruments and sensors based on their application demands. It aims to assit graduate students majoring in mechanics in mastering the knowledge system of modern mechanical experiments, preparing them for scientific research practice, and enabling them to engage in independent scientific research and engineering practice upon graduation.
