Abstract: The mechanical model of 6140 lathe spindle is established in the paper.By calculating the force parameters, a model for finiteelement analysis of 6140 lathe spindle is obtained. After meshing with tetrahedral cells, the distortion and stresses of the spindle are analyzed.Several methods to reduce the machining errors are suggested.
