从全导数理解功共轭——载荷参数化与能量法教学重构

UNDERSTANDING WORK CONJUGACY THROUGH TOTAL DERIVATIVES: LOAD PARAMETERIZATION AND THE TEACHING OF ENERGY METHODS

Abstract: Teaching of energy methods commonly emphasizes partial differentiation of strain energy or complementary energy with respect to independent generalized forces, whereas less attention is paid to the physical meaning of a total derivative along a coupled loading path. Starting from a classroom question concerning Castigliano’s second theorem, this paper shows that the meaning of an energy derivative is determined by load parameterization and the associated direction of variation. A partial derivative reads a single conjugate displacement along an independent load-coordinate direction, while a total derivative along a prescribed loading path yields a combination of conjugate responses weighted by the corresponding load rates. A proportional loading case involving F and 2F further demonstrates how a combined response is generated, and a virtual force is interpreted as a means of constructing an independent loading direction. A teaching sequence of “computing the total derivative—identifying the path—naming the response—transferring the construction—auditing artificial intelligence (AI) outputs” is proposed to shift students from differentiation rules toward variable structure, work conjugacy, and engineering judgment.
