Abstract: Internal cracks in grain kernel may occur due to highlevel of thermo-hydro-stresses during drying. Based on this actual problem,the hydro-stress distributions in a Maxwell viscoelastic sphere are studied wheninitial moisture concentration and equilibrium moisture concentration are given, and the variations of the hydro-stress with the lapse of time are discussedas well in this paper.
