Abstract:
Starting with the interesting phenomenon of “wine tears" in daily life, this paper popularizes the physical nature of surface tension and the Marangoni effect. It reveals that wine tears originate from liquid flow driven by surface tension gradient caused by alcohol volatilization. Furthermore, the paper expands the practical applications of the Marangoni effect, including metallurgy and chemical engineering, seawater desalination, liquid pattern preparation, hemodialysis and other fields, showing the close connection between basic physical phenomena, engineering technology and clinical medicine. With vivid metaphors, this paper dismantles complex mechanical principles, guides readers to understand the scientific logic behind daily phenomena, and realizes the important value of basic science for technological innovation and life application.
