TEACHING OF MACHANICS OF MATERIALS WITH ENGINEERING CASES FOR UNDERGRADUATES MAJORED IN RAILWAY AND BRIDGE1)

  • In the teaching of mechanics of materials, in order to enhance students' interest in learning and the ability to solve practical problems in engineering, some engineering cases are analyzed in the context of the characteristics of railway and bridge for undergraduates. On one hand, the teaching mode can further deepen students' understanding of the basic knowledge and the concepts of mechanics of materials. On the other hand, it can improve the students' ability to solve specific problems in the professional field by using the knowledge that they have learned, and can stimulate the students' enthusiasm and initiative in learning. Many years of teaching practice have proved the effectiveness of this teaching mode.
